Lauren's Trail:

Taniguchi Japanese Garden,

Zilker Botanical Garden, Austin, Texas

Lauren's Trail is a special memorial project involving the reconstruction of a stone pathway in the Taniguchi Japanese Garden to meet ADA guidelines. Lauren’s Trail begins at the north end of the Taniguchi Garden's Koi Pond and ends at the Tea House. A Japanese lantern and other architectural features are part of this generous memorial gift of $20,000 from the Orton Family to memorialize the life of Lauren Orton. In 2003, Lauren died in a tragic whitewater rafting accident.  The Taniguchi Japanese Garden was one of Lauren's favorite places and her spirit lives on assisting visitors on a new path to the beauty of the Taniguchi Japanese Garden.
