Texas Bamboo Society Work Day - Gathering - Bamboo Dig - Fund Raiser

At the Chambers Bamboo Farm, Buckholts , Texas

Saturday, May 31, 2008       Cost = $15 per member

All TBS members are invited - and you can join TBS/ABS that day, on the spot membership application

What you get for your money - hard work, fun, lunch will be provided in the grove, the opportunity to dig several varieties of bamboo, and the chance to see this fine bamboo farm. If you have never done this before, it is a great way to learn about bamboo and its care.

Goal: to help groom the groves and take home plants if you wish

Bring: water, chairs for lunch, pruning shears, loppers, saws, sharp spades, slammers, work gloves, hats, and dirt to fill the holes you dig if you are taking plants home.

No dessert furnished, so everyone with a sweet tooth brings us all something.

Schedule: 8:30 a.m. - Arrive - coffee and tea or bring your own breakfast
9:00 a.m. - Orientation and divide into work teams
Lunch - when we decide it’s time
After lunch - dig selected bamboos to take home

If you forget to bring dirt, some will be available for a donation of $3 per hole you dig and then fill.

If you don’t make the work hours, you can still dig plants for an additional $50 donation to TBS.

If you can, let us know in advance if you plan to attend.
