The City of Austin Welcomed 2009 With a Bamboo Structure as part of the 2009 First Night Celebration.
The bamboo structure/sculpture was built using Guadua angustifoia on Auditorium Shores, Austin, Texas, near the First Street Bridge during Dec 26-31, 2008. It was a temporary structure - so you can visit these pictures to share the experience. The sculpture was coordinated by Danielle and Jason Mika Read the proposal here****************************************************************************
Also shown in the pictures are views of the "Resolution Clock" on which people attached their New Years Resolutions and on New Years Eve - the clock was burned as a gesture of letting go....
