We invite you to attend the Annual Live Auction of Bamboo Plants, Books and All Things Bamboo on Saturday morning, September 29,2012 starting at 10 am. The auction is the principle annual fund raiser for the American Bamboo Society and funds raised at the auction help the ABS continue promoting many worthwhile causes such as providing research grants and scholarships, publishing scientific papers, publishing a beautiful magazine and source list, assisting in new species research and introductions, acknowledging excellence in bamboo art and educating the public on the proper use, benefits and beauty of bamboo. The auction is open to the public.
This year's event will be a little different from our traditional annual texas bamboo festivals because The Texas Bamboo Society is combining the Annual Texas Bamboo Festival with the Annual Meeting of the American Bamboo Society. We do anticipate that there will be a $15 fee for entry to the lectures but the festival portion and the auction are free and open to the public .
There are ten chapters of the American Bamboo Society and every fall a different chapter hosts the Annual Conference for the ABS. In 2013 the conference will be held in Florida on October 10-13, 2013 at Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach, FL.
